It’s a shame Rag died of Covid because he’d be all up in this thread blasting people.

From the presser.

I'm guessing this is the info they want everybody to post at workplaces, ect., about the virus. Not 100 percent sure. Their website sort of sucks, but it looks like what Pence was holding up.

Twice as many people have gotten stuck by lighting and died than have died by CV since this outbreak started.

On the one hand you have Italy where the entire country is locked down and under quarantine and where they reported 123 new deaths yesterday.

On the other hand you are in here telling everyone this is nothing and to stop talking about their bleeding vaginas.

Where do you see the rational middle ground?

How many people in the US died of the flu yesterday? In Italy?

Treat the situation the same way we are treating the info out of China and Iran.

As an outlier.

We keep referencing Italy, but we don’t reference Germany and the only ones who reference South Korea are those who downplay the panic.

Germany had over 1000 cases with zero deaths.

That is pretty reassuring.

Recognize that this virus exists, but notice that it isn’t the world ender that people report and that half a million Americans will not die from it.

Treat it like you would treat a bad flu season. Wash hands and avoid ill people like you would the flu.

Otherwise, business as usual.

On the one hand you have Italy. On the other you have SK and Singapore (both way closer to China in proximity) that actually are taking care of business by completely reversing infecting to recoveries ratio.

Honestly this is more of a indictment of how shitty European socialized healthcare is than anything else. The Italians are fricking clueless and southern Italians are among the laziest people in the entire world. This is a culmination of what complacency and laziness gets you with 100 years of big government.

Failure.

SK gets referenced because it’s had a bunch of cases and testing. Fatality is 0.7% there. But I was trying to find what the flu fatality rate is there for a 1:1 comparison. The rates are obviously skewed to affect much older people which asian populations are heavy in. Spain has a really low rate too.

I think you missed the point there.

I was contrasting one extreme to another.

From the presser.

My favorite part is when they tell us how it can spread from close contact with an infected person, as if we will know that the person we have contact with has coronavirus.

Looking at that thing (which I guess is what Pence showed at the press conference today) we get no new info. Just a bunch of the same stuff about washing our hands. Where is the info that we actually want right now, like when more testing will be available, progress on a vaccine, etc?

Government is worthless much of the time. Can't believe people want these people to have MORE control over our healthcare.
