I’m in medicine. Feel free to steal my idea and get famous on Twitter. There are plenty people way smarter than me working on this, so I assume if they aren’t being that aggressive it’s because they dont have the testing capacity yet.

And there’s your issue.
How many people you think hear “put bleach in water” and never research it?

LOL... it seems like boil the water would be option A with putting bleach in water somewhere around option K.

I think it’s one capful per gallon.

Flu positive doesn't mean you won't be Corona positive either.
The issue is the exposure risk is very high for those who don't know they're infected. Think of the:
1. Receptionist they greet
2. The patients in the waiting room they sit with
3. The medical/nursing assistant getting vitals
4. The nurse
5. The physician
6. The phlebotomist
This has potential to be insanely problematic due to the novelty of it

Oh boy. You should probably let her know that dead from bleach ingestion is probably about the same as dead from Corona.
Most municipal systems chlorinate their drinking water safe and industrial bleach (much higher concentration sodium hypochlorite active than store bleach) is used quite frequently. A capful of bleach in a gallon of water is an excellent way to sterilize suspect drinking water. If the chlorine smell is overpowering just wait a little while, the chlorination will dissipate relatively quickly.

We need the capability to perform that many tests, just like we would with the flu. We test millions of people for the flu during flu season. It will give accurate numbers as far as mortality and infection rate.
I rather when Scruffy speaks in 3rd person.

This is correct. Even fema advises this when water supply is low.

A second death from the coronavirus was reported from the same nursing home in Washington. The virus continues to spread. My cough remains. It gets worse as the day progresses. It disappears throughout the night and returns about two hours after I wake up. Other than my cough, I feel fine.

The news on television makes things sound like the grim reaper has permeated the planet. Granted, we’ve had six deaths from passengers on our ship, the Diamond Princess, and two deaths now in the States. It’s tragic. However, most of us have had very mild reactions to the virus. For me, it was the high fever that almost instantly jumped to 103 two hours into our flight from Tokyo back to America and my dry cough that persists.
If I wasn’t contagious, I would have been back at work 48 hours after the virus hit.

I get it. And same process I followed many times while keeping my kids’ goldfish alive.......aside from treating tap water, I let it sit overnight first, too, for the chlorine to dissipate.
I just don’t necessarily think Billy Bob down the road is going to pay much attention to the ratios. I tend to assume most people I encounter are idiots until proven otherwise. It works out more often than not.

Probably a safe assumption.

#Breaking: Five Dallas police officers sent home after arresting man with possible coronavirus buff.ly/2Ia0noi

Just spoke to police sources. According to those sources, the person who was arrested said they had coronavirus, so officers had to take them to be screened, even though they were not showing symptoms. Officers will be back at work tomorrow, according to sources.

So is that the new “Sorry I was speeding, I have to poop”. Or “Sorry officer, I’m on my period and don’t have any tampons”

I agree. If we had enough tests I would test everyone with flu like symptoms. However, the biggest confounder will be flu. You could dramatically reduce the number of tests you do if you perform flu first.
All we have to do is reduce the R0 of the virus enough so that the cases don’t all come in one massive wave.
You have to find the mild cases to know what areas are at risk to be swamped. Remember for every critical patient there will be 25 mild patients. For every death there will be 50 or 100 mild patients. So if you catch an uptick in mild cases you can alert that community to shut down schools, etc. and prepare those hospitals for an influx. Otherwise, if you wait until the mass of critical cases roll in you don’t have time to react.
Beating this thing has a lot to do with testing. South Korea knows that. Singapore knows that.

Ok. You've been sick for over two weeks while specifically trying to recover. Thats not normal lol. Dont downplay it with that last statement

frick the hysteria of asymtomatic cases.
If anything mild illness in the majority of population may actually lead to more bad outcomes simply by how fast and far it spreads.
He literally admitted if he could, he would be going to work to spread it around.

Huh?
The guy is saying that aside from a quick fever and then nagging cough, he feels perfectly fine and could easily be working.
Sounds similar to what is being claimed that tons of people may have it and have very little symptoms or no symptoms. His body will fight it off in the end.

Am I the only person on the planet who thinks a legit excuse to avoid other stupid humans for three weeks doesn't sound so bad?
