Seriously, how has India not been hit hard by this yet?
They have absolutely abhorrent hygiene and are over-populated to an alarming degree, especially in the poor areas/slums.
Gotta think that this virus would explode in that population.

Hard to believe all this started over a bat. Humans are really fragile in the grand scope of things

Never let anyone tell you that you can't make a difference. You could go eat some rat or bat and spread the next plague.

It is being instructed to us at home that anyone who flies into a hot zone must self impose quarantine for 9-14 days post trip.

Call me skeptical but I have a hard time believing a bat started all of this. I think this is a biological weapon that accidentally got out but news isn’t allowed to say that

Old folks homes are going to be ravaged with this virus apparently.

There comes a point when you have no choice, that’s the only way to slow the virus. Unless there is so other idea I’m not aware of?
Or, you know, we just live our lives like we do around the flu. There's nothing to support mass quarantines right now.

It is a pretty shitty biological weapon.

The Redmond lab and some of my colleagues live literal minutes away from the nursing home in the news.

Please, share with us all the wealth of knowledge and experience you possess that allows you to lay down expectations on what a novel outbreak should look like.

Right now? Absolutely not. But we will quickly reach the tipping point for what our healthcare system can handle.
It’s happening in Italy and South Korea already in 2 weeks. What do you think will happen in 2 months.
I’m open to other theories like thinking the virus will slow down when it’s warm, maybe we develop a vaccine or new treatment. Those are all valid scenarios. But “continuing like we do” isn’t going to be an option when we run out of ICU beds and ventilators.
