Buddy, I say a prayer for you. In the mean time you better get you hands on all the US cash you can and get in touch with the embassy. I would be looking for a way out ASAP.

I don't remember all the details of SARS but I don't recall several large cities in China (or anywhere) being quarantined.
Perhaps you're right but this seems much, much worse. That or China is just being extra cautious (highly doubt)

China caught alot of flak for taking forever to actually take action. They were also caught lying and ultimately several top politicians were replaced as a result.
Hong Kong canceled all schools for like a month. It was serious.

In some ways SARS was scarier because mortality was higher but there were only 8000 cases total.
This is obviously spreading much faster. We have reports of 90k cases and that might just be the start.

I still am not totally excluding that this is a bioweapon leak.... especially now that I read the Nature article about the BSL4 lab that was built in Wuhan 2 years ago.
