Same here. My company is a public multinational and our Asian business is getting walloped right now.

As consumers we will definitely see some price increase from simple supply side economics.

No telling how many items and components will be impacted.

Sorta like a full blown trade war would have caused.

Amen to that. I'm in the glass business. While I personally don't buy a lot of glass from China (though some), a lot of other fabricators do, and when that supply gets thin, it will put a hurting on domestically produced glass supply. It'll also put a big strain on hardware. Almost all of our hardware comes from China, and it was hard to get before all of this mess. It's going to be next to impossible to get here soon.

I'm just one trade. I'm sure other manufacturers and other trades have the same problem. It could get rough for a lot of us as we head in to warmer months that are typically our busy season. We count on that season to float the ship.

I wonder how bad of a hit we'll take economically if quarantines are enforced here for weeks.

That is some 1984 shite there. That book and china terrify me.

No it’s not true. US groups all pneumonia deaths in with flu deaths so it’s misleading and a propaganda campaign by WHO to get people to get their flu shots (granted I think this is a good idea and way to minimize the flus impact, unfortunately now we have a situation where for some reason people need to discredit another deadly virus by comparison)

Damn

Here’s what I don’t get.

How were we able to prevent an outbreak in Jan and most of feb?

Why just now is it a threat again?

What are the chances these people in northern Italy are going to be traveling here?

The simple response is incubation period but I don't think that the US will be able to shut off travel from Europe.

Maybe... but it’s been here for over 4 weeks now and no outbreak. Unlike these other countries who just recently got their first cases and are exploding.

I believe it will be an effect from contact with people in Europe and other countries that have had it.

Hope I am wrong!
