Gets worse? It’s inevitable at this point and unstoppable, the only remaining question is if this is our new norm, if this dies off, or if this is worse than we even know and we all die off

There are just too many of us and we are too spread out.
Even if immunity never develops, and multiple reinfections are possible until eventual death, there would surely still be many humans left after it burns itself out.
An organism that efficiently destroys its own means of reproduction will cause its own extinction.

Thankfully hurricane season is right around the corner and we can get all the doomsday cat 5 threads to distract us from the zombie apocalypse.

Stop saying this or provide factual evidence to back it up. Hearsay on Twitter is not factual evidence.
If this were true then a vaccine would actually be harmful and companies wouldn’t be spending their own capital investing in one

Does anyone know if Coronavirus has made it to Punta Cana yet?

How does it burn itself out though if immunity doesn't develop?

Yeah, but he will never be able to find George to do the interview.

Comrade Slackster, et al disagree. Nothing could be done. What would you do? Cut off China and hurt global economy?
Like usual, you misunderstand the point from the get go. The point was that you cannot expect to shut down global travel/trade every time some fishy pneumonia cases pop up. Surely you understand why that's infeasible. You're like the guy that thinks all of Houston should be evacuated when it's in the cone of a hurricane 5 days out, and the one time there is actually a severe impact in the city, you pound your chest like it proves your point. The rest of us live in the real world.

We should all be worrying about the flu.
Do you live in the US? If so, the flu is still a substantially higher threat to your health. The fact you and others continue to bring this up like it's some sort of gotcha shows how little you actually know. Since this thread was started, there have been 35 coronavirus deaths in the rest of the world outside of China. There have been 37 pediatric flu deaths in the US in the 3 weeks ending 2/15/20.

The world has survived the Black Plague and numerous other epidemics more than once despite them having very little scientific knowledge at all. I think it’s pretty damn safe to say the human race isn’t going to cease to exist because of this.
