A new disease is a lot like a new drug. Process it through a few million different human genomes and you'll find all sorts of odd reactions.

It would be interesting if some alien race could analyze the human response to all of these pandemics as a contributor to the final death toll. They'd probably find that we haven't made all that much progress over the millenia.

In a scientific context however, this is basically meaningless.


From what we know, its unlikely.

We just don't know it to be false.

Personally I want more data on covid's impact on clotting.

I think down the stretch the longer impact of COVID won't be the immediate death, but the longer term health impact of infection.

Even if it degrades only 1 out of every 10 infected, that is a pretty big number overall.

Finally know one person who tested positive.

Brother lives in New Orleans. Was apparently sick in March. Positive for antibodies. Lucky shite.

TSA checkpoint travel numbers for 2020 and 2019

From 4/28/2020 to 5/1/2020, TSA checkpoint numbers have gone from 110,913 on the 28th to 171,563 on May 1st.

That's still just 6.73% of the numbers from 5/1/2019 (2,546,029). It'll be interesting to see if the numbers continue to climb.

And it's an amazing dropoff from just 3/1/2020 when there were about 2.2 million passengers going through TSA checkpoints.

The newest antibody test is showing 20 percent of NYC has antibodies.

That would mean if the sample size is stretched out to the entire population, 1.7 million people have gotten the coronavirus in NYC.

The IFR would then be I n the 1 percent range based on the increase in deaths year over year and the number of deaths measured in the city so far.

Now I’m not positive when the antibody tests were taken, and it’s likely the percentage with antibodies is now even higher. However I’m surprised more people aren’t alarmed by these death rates.
