Some older doc is talking about it now.
He's saying it needs to be "life altering/threatening"
They really need to start moving faster.
They are killing small community hospitals and will greatly hurt the health of those communities.

I don't get how they are so stupid.
Close waiting rooms and call people on their cell phones when ready for them to come in.
Lower chance of transmission in medical and dental offices than take out or walmart.
Teeth cleanings and medical well checks catch life threatening illnesses every day.

In Georgia: Gov. Kemp announced that businesses like gyms, salons, nail salons, bowling alleys and more can reopen for baseline operations on Friday. Restaurants can open Monday.

I think it’s a forgone conclusion that cases will rise, but with testing available and awareness around the virus, it should be easy to keep squashed.
The cure has been worse than the virus and the more info that is coming out about the numbers of antibody carrying people, this is far more widespread and less lethal than thought.

This press release is in Swedish, but your browser should translate it for you. It says that 11% of blood donors in Stockholm have tested positive. And the test that they use has a small percentage of false negatives, which would add to the total. Of course, since antibodies can take two weeks to form, the real number is likely much higher now -- maybe something like 20%.
So many of these serology studies are bunk, like the Santa Clara one that advertised for volunteers and likely got more people who'd previously had symptoms, or like several others that are using crappy tests that have high numbers of false positives. This one is not. The test that Sweden is using is certified with no false positives.

If you assume all of NY State has already been infected they are already at 0.1% using total population (~20,000/~20,000,000). For your .2-.4% they will have to be 25-50% of the way through this?

There's nothing wrong with science, it played a role in development of many of the conveniences of modern life. Scientists, however, are people and are no more suited than politicians, preachers, musicians, dictators or high tech billionaires to tell other people how to live their lives. If I see a scientist, doctor, expert, etc., standing shoulder to shoulder with a politician, I'm inclined to doubt whatever scientific sounding words come out of their mouths.

The good news is that nursing homes are basically closed systems. As we expand our testing ability, we can test every resident and every worker regularly -- we can even test guests.
Our ability to test will remove most of the concern to our citizens at greatest risk, and that will also ease concern about the ability of a 2nd wave to overwhelm our healthcare system.

Once it became clear that our official Covid numbers, including deaths, are no longer test verified cases, I've lost a lot of interest in following the data. When there are this many political and financial outcomes at stake, soft data invariably gets manipulated.

New york has counted every cardiac and respiratory death since March 1st as covid related.
I also think the infection rate is very high in NyC. 25-35% is very plausible.

Flu deaths are not test verified cases either.
I'm not saying that the death rate justifies the shutdown at all but equating it to the flu is disingenuous at best.
