While they don’t specifically state the cause of them closing because of the Covid-19, you would have at least have to infer that it had some influence in their decision?

I mean it was a guy that said hes been thinking about retiring for several years. He said this sped up the decision. Maybe that was only by 6 months.

Most restaurants close down. This just sped that up. Plenty will open back to replace them. People love to go out to eat and people love to run restaurants/bars.

That's why reopening is a process. You allow some things to start back up and see what happens with new infections, and then, if they don't rise, you can open even more stuff, etc. Hopefully, the summer heat really helps us.
We may have rules against big gatherings for a while, unless someone comes up with a really effective drug treatment.

That’s the problem with preaching outlandish numbers at the beginning. Yeh, you rope in the stupid people, but logical people will never trust you again. Of course mitigation helots to an extent. But I know not to trust a single thing anyone who spoke on those original reports

Actually, the problem is with you.
Waiting for people to tell you what is there to say, but not putting the time to do more than skim the hyperbolic headlines.
Early on it was widely disclosed what the estimated range with no mitigation: 200k to 2.2 million. The numbers were wide because it was too early to get firm projection numbers
Of course headlines focused on the 2.2 million. Which is all you ever put the effort to be aware of.
And for some reason you are applying your negligence on the scientists making the projections.
Whats been said time and time again: the final numbers won't be known for years.
The clinical pathology has made it objectively clear that it is substantially worse than flu.
We just won't know how bad for quite some time. Potentially years.
