Why did she originally go to police?

I have not seen an answer to this.

My guess is she is stupid and thought she was reporting crimes to the police. When they told her that everything she described was legal, she decided to later change her story for cash

She provided a 6 page sworn affidavit that exonerated the accused.

They were called to the dorm that night. I haven't seen if she requested it or someone called on her behalf.

Because she woke up the next day feeling like a whore and probably told one of her (probably) blue haired roommates that she got really high and allowed herself to get gangbanged and then her roommate probably said “OMG THATS LIKE TOTALLY LEGALLY RAPE GO REPORT IT”

It’s amazing how how modern women view these things really depends on how the woman feels the next day.

If she woke up thinking she had a great time? AWESOME YOU GO GIRL, be free, do drugs! Have sex!

If she regrets it? RAPE!!

Those boys are idiots and trash, but this woman is an evil whore

All 7 boys and her are just straight up trash. Reading her statement doesn't make it seem like rape happened. Boys and girls need to start making better choices in life or shite like this happens.

Van Houten said that he considered Jane Doe, the alleged victim, credible. He also said neither Jane Doe nor her attorneys ever contacted his office to ask for reconsideration of her case or to suggest that her sworn statement was inaccurate

Makes it sound like a money grab.

I don’t think so. It is not disputed that there was sexual contact in this case. It is not disputed that the girl was intoxicated. There was an investigation by the university that resulted in punishment. The criminal question is whether she consented beyond the initial encounter. I think these guys are looking at jail time with the snap text.

Why? Because they said there’s a whore upstairs doing drugs and blowing anyone who walks in the door?

Lacrosse players don't have to rape women. I played for LSU and turned down pussy. A cheerleader from my high school was taking care of that.

My guess is she told a friend and they said she was raped because she looked like a whoreafter her friend judged her

Problem for her is the story she told the cops showed no assault but she’s keeping it up to hopefully get paid

Telling people there’s a whore upstairs isn’t a crime. If she asked them to stop and they kept going that’s a crime.

But apparently whenever she asked the guys to stop they did.

This. They're all a bunch of retards, including her. According to her statements she had been talking to the original dude all week and planned to hang out. He invited her over to the house and she came running over. They drank some shots and whatever and they start making out. As soon as he gets the go ahead to bang her, what does he do? He asks if he can invite his buddy in so they can have a threesome. She agrees because she thinks it means they might be gay and it excites her.

I'm not even joking, read the statements.

It is my understanding that the university handed out different levels of punishment to the accused men. That suggests to me that those who reviewed everything found different levels of culpability. Some of them were expelled from Cornell. I imagine that is the most serious punishment a university can dole out. I have not heard that the expulsions were challenged, appealed, or overturned. That, to me, suggests that a criminal prosecution will not go well for at least some of the accused.

Compare that to the LSU Title IX investigation involving the football player where the punishment was appealed and lowered.

Duke Lacrosse was a complete fabrication. This, unfortunately, is not.

Duke lacrosse they didn’t even have sexual contact with the woman. In this case, at the very least, there are some blurred lines about consent and such.

The snap is going to do them in. That was really really stupid and shows that at least a few of them were sober enough to be fully aware of what was going on. Is the girl just as much to blame? Yeah, probably so. It comes down to weighing sobriety and it looks terrible for the snap bros

agreed that is a big disctincton.

I see that as ultimately being like a George Floyd where far too many people will stop thinking critically and paint with a broad brush about not only what happened here, but basically ... men.

100% it will. The police report which is 6 pages and she signed off on it admitting to literally (and alllevedlg)asking other dudes to come f her. She was only pissed bc guy #1 lost his wood and the 3some couldn’t continue.

She seems like a suicide candidate to me. She’s going to lose this and lose it big and it will drive her nuts. Watch.

You can say rape here.

I see that now. I was playing it safe. Some forums I've been on, you say rape and your post is deleted and sometimes you are banned. So I figured I would play it safe until someone here clearly told me otherwise.
