Aren’t police supposed to run and verify car insurance after a car accident as part of the report?
Some bitch rear ended me and the report showed she had valid insurance but now the insurance company is saying she didn’t have coverage at the time. Of course it’s The General.
I hate trashy humans so much and hate that we have to share the roadways with them.

LEO just takes the information from the insurance card to put on the accident report. They're not doing an investigation into the driver having legit insurance.

The grift is the drivers "get insurance" and pay 1 month to get the card and then don't pay anything else. Gets them 6 months of having the card + 1 month of LEO leeway after.

I've seen this hundreds of times in my former life as a PI lawyer.

Buy all of the UM you can. That’s the one you will use in Louisiana.

Don't ever start watching those YouTube dashcam channels, baw. The amount of hit-and-run incidents will drive you insane.

UM only pays for medical bills. It doesn’t fix your car.

When I got pulled over for my expired inspection sticker, my insurance card was expired by one day. The cop said "Well, I guess I can let that go" but I told him I had the Progressive app and had the updated card on there. He told me I needed to physically have it on me and I picked up my phone, opened the app, pulled up the ID and said "I do". He just looked at me and walked back to his car.

Louisiana allows digital IDs but im not sure some other states do. I actually don’t know what happens in other states that don’t allow digital ID but that’s all we have

You actually think they have a database for that inside their vehicle??

It’s my understanding they do have that information available inside their car.

Happened to me several years ago. I guess they just have a fake card that does enough to get by the police.

I was just in an accident. The guy who hit me didn’t have his card with him. The cops just told myself and the other driver he hit that he wasn’t able to show proof of insurance. Didn’t mean he didn’t have any but he couldn’t show proof.

Thankfully the meth head that hit me had insurance….as his father who came to pick him up was able to prove.

That’s what happened to me. They had insurance documents but were not valid.

Gotta have uninsured motorists coverage in Louisiana or Texas.

I thought you couldnt register a vehicle in louisiana if you had no insurance, or even a lapse in insurance without paying a huge fee?

If so, how does it make sense to only get the insurance for one month and cancel?
