I seriously mean this and I think it applies to each state. I think it takes a certain type of a-hole to become a state trooper.
Of course I say this because of one experience on a camping trip when in Colorado, on the way to Wyoming. I was a teenager at the time, I was on a camping trip that included 3 vehicles. One of the vehicles, I wasn't in, was pulled over while getting on a highway. I really don't remember why, but I think it was something minor.. If I recall, the driver of the vehicle supposedly didn't turn their blinker on until after turning or something like that.
It resulted in a ticket.. I think... I just remember the state trooper was the biggest a-hole. The driver told him that they were on a camping trip with the other two vehicle that pulled over.. I just remember him coming to the vehicle I was in asking questions, but he was an absolute dick.. And I swear the one LSP officer I know.. who grew up down the road from me, but was few years older had this certain arrogant personality. Just the type of person that if anyone spent too much time around them they would end up hating them.. Because he would eventually say something that pisses people off.
Its like they have the attitude that "its my world. You are just living in it". I am just basing this on my experience and I am sure they are some good dudes out there, but the ones that are assholes.. seem to be a special type of a-hole.

I haven't personally come across one that's been bad, thank goodness... but it isn't a terrible thing to know that not all cops are 'good'.
The one starring in the OP is egregiously awful... I couldn't imagine spending the night in jail away from three young children because of that power tripping douche.
No matter what happens next in this case- those children have one thought about cops and it isn't good. That's a damn crime in itself.

Ah, there we go. No wonder you haven't once mentioned any sort of punishment for this cop. You're a beneficiary of government corruption. You could have lead with that. I'd have had a more productive conservation with a houseplant. Say what you like about me from now on. I won't engage now that I know better.

I don't mind the reminders that some cops suck.
One of the campaigns I ran was for County Sheriff and we were plenty aware of corruption that needed to be addressed again I'm not defending bad cops
It's the presentation of a singular interaction of a cop and then a blanket indictment of all cops that this OP has a habit of engaging in
Let's talk about the one bad interaction in and of itself, without having to say that all cops are bad and everyone defending them is denying the OP his constitutional rights

It’s an absolute fact that police get overtime pay due to attending court based on certain crimes. DWI’s are the most popular for cops. It’s not my opinion, it’s a fact. Google it. Also I have over a dozen cop “friends” that absolutely tell you DWI’s are goldmines for them.
