From the office White House website about Coolidge :
Both his dry Yankee wit and his frugality with words became legendary. His wife, Grace Goodhue Coolidge, recounted that a young woman sitting next to Coolidge at a dinner party confided to him she had bet she could get at least three words of conversation from him. Without looking at her he quietly retorted, "You lose."

Coolidge was my father.
Really? Great guy, I meet one of his old time friends who used to post here. I think they grew up together, he talked about what a great guy he was. As others have said from is postings, a very unique guy. If I ever become sick with a terminal illness like he did I pray I handle it with the dignity and live life to the fullest like he did.

I should say he was LIKE a father to me. He practically raised me around here and made me the poster that I am today.

Cobe had two engineering degrees, a law degree, and was a drummer as well. He also studied the weather for a hobby. Always nailed hurricanes. Always.

Wow. RIP Coolidge.
I think the first 'Consider' post I ever saw of his was ...Consider the mango. He was ahead of his time.

I was still lurking back then while he was posting and always thought he while he was an odd dude, I still would've loved to pick his brain.

RIP Coolidge. He was a great one though he never could do the conventional. I talked with him a bit at the Ernst party before the 2003 national championship, and also at Virginia Tech. He loved to talk about Monty Python and was a bigger fan than I am which is saying something.
Coolidge back in the good old days:

Has the nature of his ailment been made known around here?
Would it be appropriate to do so?
