I stayed at a Hilton not long ago that had bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, pancakes. It was nice

Those waffle machines are awesome. I just stick to those. Everything else is usually disgusting.

I choose my hotels based on breakfast b/c I'm fat. You didn't do your homework. There's still plenty hotels that are cheaper than Hampton that provide free hot breakfasts.
Drury Inn is one of them.

On point here. I love me the free hotel breakfast and yes they are still out there.

Holiday Inn Expresses

Are there any regular Holiday Inns anymore or are they all Expresses?

I usually stay in Marriott brands when traveling, they seem a little fresher.

Except every kid in the hotel that has been kicking his nose, scratching his arse and never washes his hands has out his grimy fingers all over that station.

Not that the hourly line cook has better hygiene, but out of sight out of mind.

It feels like some of you don't know what the word continental in continental breakfast means.

You'd never expect it, but Quality Inn used to have legit breakfast buffets.

Hampton Inn is pretty nice. I guess I got used to Motel 6s and stuff growing up.

nd this a damned Hampton Inn we are talking about here.

All Hampton Inns and free breakfasts are not equal. Just search around on yelp, TripAdvisor, etc for the best reviews, locations, room and staff qualify, etc. You can sort through the outlier comments from the Karens and usually get a pretty good read.

If it's just me and C I don't fret with it.

But our Summer vacation for example, we had to feed 6 of us every morning and we were on a schedule. So, I did my best to find hotels that had hot breakfast and not in the hood.

Gotta cut costs somehow. You think they can just dish out great breakfasts after barely getting by for the past two years? Don’t be a fool

You'd think they could have come up with a less depressing name.

Last summer on vacation up in Idaho/Wyoming/etc two hotels had Jimmy Dean breakfast sammiches behind the counter in a fridge. You just had to ask for em and go heat up in the kitchen area. Otherwise you could have a plain arse muffin with coffee/juice/milk.
They said it was Covid. But I bet it was really from trashy people taking 10 at a time to eat for a week.

Hampton Inn breakfast is the worst even when they have eggs and omelets.
