There are quite literally some CM graduates making $150k straight out of college with salary, OT and per diem that also have 401k and health insurance.

Engineering PM's also have a PE license, and being a CM grad will never get you there...

That is not good, If your good at your job you should be close to double that, having said that you'll probably have to get it somewhere else given the 3 - 5 mil a year in invoicing.

After 6 years you should be in the 80K+ range and absolutely be somewhere with a 401k/health insurance

I don’t know what the going rate is for your experience, but, man, that’s not much money. I have a guy working for me with no degree that travels doing basic helper stuff on larger projects and handles smaller jobs near where he lives and he makes what you do working about 2/3 of the year. If he picks up the other side of my business and can handle it, he’s going to make 6 figures next year. Less than 2 years ago, this guy showed up as a temp on a job I needed an extra hand. He was homeless at the time, but fairly smart and would work as long as I needed him to without complaining.

You guys in the larger corporate structured jobs probably aren’t getting what you’re worth.

You’re never going to make more than that measly salary at a $5mil a year GC. If it were a specialty sub maybe but not a GC

Either go work for a bigger GC or go on the sub side

THIS.
The lack of benefits pretty much kill this.
Hell you can get a raise by just finding a company that'll subsidize your health insurance premiums.

What? You're thinking about asking for a raise? You should have thought that a long time ago. You deserve a significant raise man and if you're boss doesnt recognize that i'd be on the job hunt asap.

They are using you.
I’m sure they would hate to see you go.
I’d look elsewhere.
No health benifits would be a red flag for me.

If I see you this weekend tailgating I’ll explain but there are absolutely some. Most industrial contractors still pay OT even with a base salary. My company in particular pays straight time OT. Others like PCI pay time and a half.

yep. guys can clear $125k as a field engineer at $45/hr working 5-10s. that's not even taking into account per diem or extended schedules or job bonuses (I know a project controls guy that just got a $30k bonus for ONE job). i cant imagine doing anything other than industrial, you don't make shite elsewhere unless you're VP-level or the owner

OP is getting hosed LOL, he needs to gtfo

I have a buddy that's a cm in o&g. He's closer to 160k with full benefits and 10-15k bonus. I think he's got about 12 years experience. It seems like what you're doing currently was a good start, but it may be time to find a new job.
