I am all about constitutional right etc but some people just deserve to get fricked with. It's like the assholes who video tape cops pulling them over and egg them on just so prove how cool they are. In those few instances I wish the cops would throw their phones in the road and beat the shite out of them.

Pretty weak argument. That the best you can come up with?

The ticket taker is not the seller and is just doing his job just like the Walmart sentinel. That ticket taker would also have security stop and question you as well.

Just so we're all clear. The OP wants Walmart to let people walk out with items not in a bag without anyone saying a word. Walmart........... what could go wrong?

Two thoughts.

First, it undercuts actual infringement of Constitutional rights when asshats act like anything someone does that they don't like violates their rights.

Second, how soft and entitled are we as a society? We have an amendment prohibiting quartering soliders because that used to happen. The military would come in your house and tell you to GTFO.

Today, we have people crying about their freedoms because they might have to show a receipt to a senior citizen greeter at Walmart. Walmart is STEALING HIS FREEDOMS!

Well, it took 26 pages, but this is the most accurate, funniest, and also saddest comment of the thread.

They stop those walking out with a couple of bags.

Its not my job to assure there are bags large enough to cover bigger items. Some places have stickers for larger items .

I am not encouraging stealing by anyone. There are hundreds of cameras in stores and loss prevention workers. That is enough.

Now you’re just lying. Walmart is absolutely not checking receipts of people walking out with 2 bags.

Why can’t you just say what you bought?

I left walmart about 30 minutes ago and didn't get checked.
I did, however, get counted. Twice. Is that a violation of my constitutional rights?

Its not about the few seconds to show the receipt or the person who is charged with asking customers to produce it. Its about the presumption that all customers leaving are thieves until they produce a receipt to prove their innocence.

I dont care if you dont agree, I respect your right to accept their policy and provide your receipt. As long as there is no law compelling me to provide the receipt I will maintain my policy of not showing it.

The problem I have is it bottlenecks customers in close quarters when we are in a pandemic!

No it's not.

I'd be 100% certain that policy is to deter shoplifters. If potential shoplifters know they'll get receipt checked, they won't shoplift.

It's like saying posting a security guard there is Walmart treating you like a criminal. No, it's primarily a deterrent so people don't think they can get away with stuff.

No, it’s not. At all. But even if it was....Private business. They can make whatever presumptions they want.
