people giving out drugs to kids on Halloween

My Mama was convinced this and razor blades in apples were real in the 1970s LOL. People still carry their kids candy to the hospital for x-ray apparently. As far as drugs go who in the frick is handing out $4-$5 pills on Halloween? We hand out full sized candy bars and the people who come by our house act like we are the fricking Rockafellow's...and they cost about $1 a piece. Folks are truly dumber than a sack of hammers....

knew a guy when I lived in Fl that converted his car to run off of cooking oil, he would take the used oil from the McDonald's fry machine to run his car, you could smell him a mile away

Pretty easy to convert cooking oil into synthetic diesel fuel....I have ran it in my Dodge back in the day and at one time it was all the rage in offshore boats....when they were backing down it smelled like McDonald french fries. Unfortunately its a huge industry now and collecting used cooking oil is almost impossible. You wanted the stuff from chinese restaurants...peanut oil...it was the best....

I also remember being discouraged from wanting to go into the military because there was so much gay sex, especially in boot camps.

I suspected a few guys in my flight were hooking up on the regular in the latrine after lights out at BMT. Some of the guys became way to chummy with each other... definitely friends with benefits.

At BMT the water and juice served in the cafeteria contained salt peter so you didn't think about the opposite sex or get an erection.

200 confirmed cases of candy tampering in the U.S. and Canada since 1958. The first report of Halloween treats being tampered with in North America was in 1959. That Halloween, a California dentist named William Shyne distributed 450 laxative-laced candies to children

Another high profile case made headlines in 1964, when a 47-year-old mother from Greenlawn, N.Y., named Helen Pfeil handed out bags of treats containing arsenic-laced ant traps, metal mesh scrubbing pads and dog biscuits.

TV show The Day It Is reported that police had discovered razor blades in Halloween apples. Video footage showed police displaying treats that were reportedly booby-trapped – including several apples containing razor blades, needles and even "poisoned candies."

I remember my dad saying his friend in the 80’s had a device on his brand new car that increased his gas mileage 10 fold. When he brought it to the dealer they quickly whisked it around back. When he got it back the device had been removed, and the car got its normal crappy gas mileage. Looking back that was bullshite, but back then we believed it. Any similar stories?

Holy shite i just heard that same story about a current GM truck. Some super secret computer hack to the chip could triple the gas mileage by changing gear ratios.
I know these chips can alter ratios and improve performance or mileage.

but triple?

I despise this one especially because it's the only 'conspiracy' that I have a personal connection to and know for a fact, these particular people aren't "crisis actors", and not only grieved deeply for their child, but are still doing so today, and have done so through over a decade of harassment by deranged morons that they did nothing to bring down on their heads.

I used to be obsessed with finding every "hoaxer" site on the internet, and trying to logically dispute all the mis-facts, non-facts, and just plain bullshite that they were putting out but, thankfully, quickly realized the futility, and now I just try to go do something else and try not to boil over with anger whenever those guys pop up here.

Sharon and Ozzy have talked about that incident. He didn't know it was real and was horrified afterwards. and had to get the rabies shot like that sexy little Vixen in 1923 had to get.

I'm still wondering where the black market site is that all these people go to in order to purchase kidneys taken from victims who were mugged in the street and then left in unconscious and bleeding in a tub of ice water.

Nope. That is a physical, mechanical change. You can change numeric values, but chips and tuners don’t change actual gear ratios.

Yeah my dad heard a story about a guy who made something to double the mpg in a vehicle. Apparently he brought it to Chevy's attention and they told him to pick any car on the lot just as long as they could keep the device. He agreed. I believed it as a 10 year old kid but I can't believe my dad fell for it.
