Surely this automatically closes doors in terms of employment and/or potential relationships right? Or am I an old pawpaw and this is the new norm?

I think not being able to spell visible closes just as many doors.

I have 2 clients who are both pretty cool guys. Both have a policy in place wherein if you have tattoos that can't be hidden with clothing then don't expect to work for their business.

What's funny about making statements like this is they are assuming people give frick about their company policy.
Guess what, nobody gives a shite what they think. I guarantee you they do not have a line of people out the door wanting to go to work for them.

this isn't the 50s.
Unless you're talking about neck and face tats I don't think it's THAT big of a deal. The #2 man in our organization was an OL in college and has a few tats that show beneath his sleeves and it's not an issue. Nobody cares.

Depends on the job. It is far more acceptable these days. People want good workers. Who gives a crap about tats if they aren't the public face of the company.
