Sorry, it's a phrase my father used to use a lot. Sorry for the triggering.

"Triggering", I'm not liberal so you don't need to use a made up word.

Your point of view is ignorant on this topic. Plenty of soldiers, firefighters, cops, nurses, bankers, and businessman have tattoos. Are they only adequate at digging ditches?

Their judgment skills are questionable when they mutilate their own body, often permanently, for narcissistic reasons.

When they have no respect for their own body, what makes you think they will respect someone else's property?

How did someone as thin skinned as you manage to suffer through getting all those life ruining tats? Just admit you're pissed off at your poor decisions and are stuck working second shift at Jiffy Lube.

My maternal grandfather was a serious fellow. When he had something to say you had better be paying attention.

He had a tattoo of a longhorn steer's head on his forearm. I was small enough to be sitting in his lap and started to trace the outline of it with my finger.

He said "don't EVER do that to yourself". I never forgot those words.

There are always exceptions.

Name the number of "bosses" that have full sleeves and worth $5 mil. It ain't many Chester.

some more conservative areas/industries and if the person has tasteless tattoos or in obnoxious places like the forehead, yes, this is true. It will be getting less and less important as time goes on and boomers are more phased out of the workplace. It's just fashion.

Permantly marking your face is stupid, not fashion.

Because that's what I said. Do you really think that clearly and purposely misinterpreting what some one says is a valid way to have a discussion?

It depends a great deal on the company, its marketplace and the job within that company.

At my business, I don't care how the warehouse or other general labor people look - it's about work ethic and getting the job done. For my front office folks I won't hire anyone who looks trashy, tattoos or not. So I have a few with tasteful tattoos that are visible.

On the other hand, it seems like tats and piercings are required for consideration at some places esp hip eateries.

This tattoo drives the ladies insane

This one screams we are going to get Divorced and I'm ready for a brawl over my CD collection

This one says I'm a forward thinker because I anticipate a coma in the future so any medical issues in advance are have been addressed by me

This one screams that I flunked the criminal law portion of my bar exam so I had to find a way to create a cheat sheet to pass within legal parameters

It depends. If you're expected to lead sales negotiations in banking, you'd better be able to hide that tat. Sales negotiations for record deals, probably just don't go overboard. Sales negotiations at Prop Stop, they're a plus.
