I go to Asheville every week.

Plenty of liberals and gheys there.

Nice city, once you get past all the crunchy people.

Sliding rock, just a bit north of Brevard, is awesome.

Don’t you mean Blowing Rock ?

I agree with others on here…Asheville is OK but the beautiful scenery is outside of town…hiking the waterfalls, smaller towns, etc are what makes that area great.
Do the Biltmore once and then literally…head for the hills !

Sliding Rock is a waterfall near Brevard that you can, as the name says, slide down.

Blowing Rock is a town out near Boone. Pretty nice town as well, a little more high-brow than the other small Western NC spots. Think Audis and polo shirts.

Knoxville, Huntsville, Greenville, and even Chattanooga are all superior towns to Asheville.

But there are some awesome places not far from Asheville. Beautiful country. Panthertown, French Broad, Black Mtn, etc.

Gotcha - and totally agree with your assessment of the areas you mentioned.

That looks like any town in Western PA/Eastern Ohio.

Must say, there are few great options especially now that Burial is here. Big fan of hopfly and resident culture.

So the overwhelming majority of people that live there weren’t protesting.

What’s your point?

And if you live nearby, Asheville is cool for a quick / cheap trip (hit the breweries, tube down French Broad River, zip line, hike).

But if this was supposed to be some big trip for you, then you’re just a peasant
