I understand.

Good, well-reasoned posts don't tend to stick out in one's mind. Only stupid shite.

Asheville has become the Nashville of the blue ridge. Still a cool place, but overcrowded and overrated. Best parts are the outskirts and the surrounding mountains. I still like it because of the beer, but Charlotte is gaining on it as a close second as far as beer cities in NC.

Happened to Bend, Oregon too. Many locals left, its all mostly transplants.

There's very few unique places left in the USA, and most are small.

We’re in Bryson City and the locals are straight up hostile to the blue hairs. They don’t take kindly to people coming to the area trying to change it.

They're pretty much the same way around Canton and Clyde. One of my clients is from Canton and he refuses to go into Asheville. Said other than the airport he has been in like 8 years... he lives 20 minutes from there.

They have good reason to hate the progs. They ruined industry in the area and destroyed what was a very middle class, blue collar region.

Bryson City is awesome. Haven't been in a few years, I really need to have lunch at Nantahala soon.

They’ve got a new menu at River’s End for this season. It’s not too bad at all. The “Cajun” labeled items aren’t that however

Gonna have to disagree.

The recent wave of new breweries in South End and NoDa is pretty impressive. Plus, Charlotte is much easier to get around with the light rail. Outside of the main strip in Asheville, you have to Uber.

I am well aware of the interstate system. There are reasons I am stuck here for a few more years.

I really don't need your $100 dollars, but you would be very wrong if I gave you my mailing address.

Why don't you buy your wife's boyfriend some extra crack with the money.

I would've said Sugar Mountain over Wolf Ridge. Wolf Ridge doesn't even have 100 skiable acres.
