The RAV4 or the Tucson. The rest of the list should all be after those. TheTucson with Ultimate Package would be my pick and you can easily be under your price point with a better warranty and more bells and whistles than ANY of the others.

Don't know anything about these but just wanted to say I still have a 2005 Mazda Tribute that runs like a champ.
I don’t know anything about Mazda except that I was given my first car and it was a Mazda and I could not break that thing and I am not speaking figuratively. I was an ungrateful shite and wanted a sports car but my mom wouldn’t help me get one unless the Mazda broke. I’d grind the gears, run it at 6000 rpms, drift corners and it would ask for more.
I haven’t owned or thought about a Mazda since, but I’ll bet they make a car as good as a Honda or Toyota.

You serious with this? Where do you live? 1970?
The Buick is trash. The Hyundai is probably the best current maker on the list (JD Power and most others agree). The Mazda is a good choice, too.
My first car was a Mazda and, unlike the guy above, my tranny blew not once, but twice. It wasn’t great. They, like Hyundai and Kia, have come a long way.

4Runner is $37k and up.
As for size, the OP was talking smallish.....the 4Runner is decent for a midsize but by no means are they “large” or “roomy”. The rear seat is a challenge for two 6’+ people on an extended ride.
Great vehicle but they are pricey.

Toyota's interiors are also complete trash compared to the competition.
The newest 4 runner looks 10 years old on the inside.

was replying to DCtiger1 who claims the 4runner is small like a clown car and an adult cant sit in the back eat without being cramped as shite an it isnt comfortable
No grown adult would be comfortable in the backseat of a 4Runner for a ride over 20 minutes long. You throw out some bogus claim about the 4Runner being the roomiest SUV on the market and you’re going to get called out.

Been thinking about getting a used Audi Q5 for the SO. Is there a reason you no longer want Audi? Anyone else, feel free to chime in. I don't know much about SUV's but I thought Audi was solid in dependability. Pros and cons welcome.

I'm a loyal Subaru customer. Have had several over many years and currently have an Outback which I love. I would go for the Subaru! See if you can find one at a dealer that was a demo or loaner and has some miles on it and discounted. That's what we did and have been very happy.

That is high. You could probably change out to shorter hydraulics

How old? My problem with used higher end cars right now is that we are in the middle of a huge evolution in interior design and functionality. 2018 and up "luxury" cars will be fine, but the 2015-2017 range generally for aufi/bmw/merc etc just look so dated interior wise.
My sister was looking at 2015-2016 q5s a month ago and it just didn't make sense to me. For the same price, a new "lower" tier make like honda, mazda, hyundai had much nicer interiors once you got to the leather trim level.
The new premium make interiors are superior, no doubt, but the premium interiors from just a few years ago fall well short of what you can get new for similar money with Honda, Mazda, etc.

I do agree with this. We just bought a Nissan Armada about a month ago and one of the primary reasons is that the Sequoia interior simply hasn't changed much since 2007. The vehicle is pretty much the exact same.

The Toyota Rav 4 is a great vehicle until my rear axles broke towing my 36 ft Contender down to Venice.

Saw an Infinity 2018 QX30 with 5k miles premium AWD for 26k. The new 19 version of the same is 40k. However, the QX30 is 11th in the luxury small SUV class. We like the look, but are they shite or something, how does it lose 14k in 5k miles (no accident, 1 owner, CPO from Infinity Dealer, 90 days on tye market, 3k price drop)

I'm 6'4" and have ridden in the backseat of my 4Runner and didn't find it that uncomfortable. Not as comfortable as the backseat of our Ford Edge, but not as horrible as you make it sound.
It's definitely not the roomiest, or smoothest riding SUV out there.

Not sure year, but was thinking 2016-2017.
Good information, thanks for the reply. Interior is her main desire. Of course, mine is dependability.
I had no idea that there were such nice luxury interior/trim offers on the vehicles you mention.

Check out the Ultimate Package trim on any of the Hyundais. The Tucson also comes with the panoramic roof. They've been doing these for years, btw (I had a 2013 Santa Fe Sport with one), and are probably the reason you're starting to see them everywhere now.

According to the website, $28,550 fully loaded. Also includes adaptive cruise (I found this very useful), lane-keep assist, and brake assist.

She should try all those ones on her no list anyway. You never really know if you like a vehicle until you drive it.

I like the shape of the Atlas. Refreshing in the era of the Pathfinder becoming a minivan.
