Are you assuming everyone wears a seatbelt strictly because its the law? I think a lot of people wear seatbelts because there are statistics that suggest wearing a seatbelt is more likely to save your life than not.

Not at all. Everyone should wear a seatbelt. Everyone should do a lot of things.

I just think it’s weird that the government can make it a crime if someone doesn’t.

Exercising an hour a day can save a lot of people from bad health related things, would we all be cool if the government made it a crime not to exercise for an hour a day?

Learning a trade is good for young men in this age. This will further continue the education divide between men and women. A whole generation of men are being pushed into generally low wage, physical labor jobs with very little real education. Been a huge push up create a larger cheaper work force of physical labor to replace immigrants that are being pushed out. Most men will fail miserably working in the trades and will be stuck with little job options

This is an interesting take

I've never understood seatbelt mandates but not motorcycle helmets. I know one is federal and the other state but it just doesn't make sense.

Adding onions to a burger is good. Adding onion rings or onion straws turns it into trailer park food. It is not good, unique, innovative, or adding value to my burger.

Yeah I can specifically tell you that it absolutely does work. The other factors are consistency, talking about things, mixing in other forms of discipline (right tool for the job), positive reinforcement, and other factors. You have a very simple idea of how it works.

I don't spank my kids for mistakes. We talk about bad decisions vs mistakes. People will spank their kid because they forgot to do the dishes or change the clothes over. No. Not rememeber to handle their responsibilities? Take away privileges for a day is an example. Consistency. Sneak out of your room to riffle through the pantry for snacks in the middle of the night, hide the wrappers, then lie? Yeah, spanking.

No kids, but I imagine you are spot on. Always thought that if you spank out of anger, then the meaning gets lost. If you sit the child down and explain what you are going to do, calmly and patiently, then that child will be terrified of it and probably has a much lower chance of repeating said offense in the future after the punishment has been dealt.

bullshite. I can see your steady-on tail lights readily. What is bothersome to the eye is your flashing red or yellows reflecting off and on through the thousands of drops on my windshield. When you actually apply the brake it doesnt stand out as quickly. If you cant drive in the rain pull your sorry arse off the road. You people suck in the worst way.

Being well into my 50s, I’m quite confident in saying rubbing one out does not cause you go blind, nor does it cause hair to grow on the palm of your hand.

Similarly, masturbating allows the overly impatient sperm to be purged so that the ones that actually fertilize the egg produce children who are more patient and less stressed.

That spanking kids as discipline works

The data on this is eternally screwed up because most people who spank do so out of anger, which is no bueno. If it’s done patiently and rationally, and not excessively, it is good.

They had a one-child policy from 1980-2015, so how did their population rise from 980 million to 1.4 billion in this time?

The one child policy was difficult to enforce away from cities where the bulk of the population was.
