What about Outside of YouTube or Internet forums? You don’t see comedians being allowed to move up the latter to writing/directing movies like they used to. Hollywood won’t allow it.
You don’t see funny shows anymore or movies. Hell shows that even used to be funny are no longer funny, South Park and family guy are great examples.
I watched a few old episodes of entourage recently and no network would allow a show like that to air.

i mostly agree with this regarding legacy comedy outlets. they are still pretty ate-up with the woke mindset because they're all tied in with Hollywood. but there are plenty anti-woke comedians getting Netflix specials and things liek that, plus podcasts obviously. Shane Gillis is a big one that comes to mind.
but yeah, comedy remains dead for the most part on regular TV shows, mainstream movies, late night shows, etc.

There are successful people like Shane Gillis yes but they most likely won’t get the opportunity to become bigger than just stand up comedians like will ferrell and Jim Carrey were able to, bc Hollywood won’t allow it. Todd Phillips said in an interview a few years ago how he refuses to write/direct anymore comedy films bc of the woke crowd on twitter. Dudes a genius when it comes to producing comedies.
saw your other post before i saw this one. but my previous response stands. yes, comedy is dead in legacy mainstream TV and movies. but it is alive and well in other outlets, which you seem to be entirely disregarding, i guess since it is counter to your narrative.

You mean, like getting a hit show on Netflix?
There's been a huge shift in the comedy world to stand up. Stand up comedy is in a golden age right now, thanks to podcasts and shows like Kill Tony. Yes, "Comedy" in 2026 does not resemble the state of it 20 years ago or more. We aren't getting the big comedy movies that we used to, and very few good comedy shows, but I think we are seeing a shift and things will start to revert back. Comedies don't need to be big budget, so they are cheap to make. Some of these comedies will get self released, or go direct to streaming, and once Hollywood sees how much money they are making, I feel like they will start biting on making big comedies again.
