30 years of this and they are just noticing. The poor foster kids that have to live in his flop house is well known but not documented by the state.
Was a foster parent for a few years and had a child staying in one of his houses. It was horrible. We reported it to Louisiana Department of Children & Family Services - kinda like "is this acceptable." and they shrugged it off and said they were working to improve the situation.

I couldn't sleep at night knowing someone was living in a house I owned that was in that condition.

This is not all on Collis Temple. My heart goes out to the tenant. The suffering this poor man is going through is absurd, not only being blind, but now he is confined to a wheel chair. He needs to be in some type of assisted living or nursing home. For some of us, being placed in a nursing home would suck. For this poor soul, being placed in a nursing home would be feel like the Ritz-Carlton.

I was a “Harmony” house resident in 97, sad to hear nothing has changed.
I’ve been to some bad places, but that was uniquely bad situation. The mix of kids waiting to go to prison (but hadn’t committed or been caught for a big enough crime yet) with access to kids moving through the system led to some real lord of the flies stuff.

Collis Temple is a slimy SOB.
I had a project that had about 300 ext doors that would be thrown away. 99% of them were in good or serviceable condition.
He wanted me to donate them to his charity. I asked for some tax docs so I could value the donation to him. He never gave me anything and I found out he was trying to sell them. He only got a few before I shut that down. Habitat got them.
