Only thing I got is getting to play for one of the greatest men I have ever known:

Tandy Gerelds

If you don't know who he is go watch the movie 'Woodlawn'.

I knew a bunch of fellows that played against him in early 70's. Heard he would play with the band at halftime too?
Sorry it took me so long to respond to you.

I don't recall him playing in the band at halftime. It could be true. I just never noticed.

They were two-time defending State Champs and we played them in the Bi-Districts (First Round.)

I whiffed the one time I even came close to him. They beat us 40-0 on the way to their third straight title.

T. Robiskie was a great guy. When he was with the Raiders he was a student teacher during the off season. One semester he was at my high school.

He would pull up on his Goldwing with the Raiders insignia all over it. We used to compete with him dunking volleyballs.

Only opposing player of significance was Patrick Willis his senior season. I was a sophomore just getting playing time and had one blocking assignment on him but I never got to him as the play developed to the far sideline.

He was considered more of a beast at running back then than linebacker.

My parents neighbors played football and baseball for belle chase around the same time you were there. One was a full back I think and the other was more baseball than football.

Not me as I was too young but I watched my small east Texas high school as a youngster, play basketball against Shaquille O'neal in a tournament.

Football team played against Byron Bam Morris. Man against boys in 2a ball.

I played basketball against Ron Kelly, who went to NC State. Beat him badly. He was 6'11".

***edit
In college playing football I played against too many to name including heisman trophy winners.

Doubt he was a fullback if he was there around the same time as me.

We only used a fullback twice while I was there and it was a dlineman.

I taught Hank Aaron everything he knows. I would have been the homerun king but the s.o.b. chopped off one of my legs when we were in AAA.
