She's a popular Youtuber and apparently posted a video last year talking about "attending" USC. She said she doesn't really go to class or want to educate herself, she was there for "the parties and tailgates"

"The nine coaches and sports administrators indicted were Rudolph "Rudy" Meredith, former Yale women's soccer coach; Donna Heinel, USC associate athletic director; Ali Khosroshahin, former USC women's soccer coach; Jovan Vavic, USC women's water polo coach; William Ferguson, Wake Forest volleyball coach; John Vandemoer, Stanford sailing coach; and Gordie Ernst, former men's and women's tennis coach at Georgetown. Ernst was hired last year to coach women's tennis at Rhode Island."

Could USC get hit with a Lack of Institutional Control here; not sure if this is at all the same administration that was in place for the OJ Mayo/Reggie Bush sanctions. Having the Associate AD and multiple coaches involved is a really bad look here.

I think one of these kids took the SAT twice and on the second time they had a 400 point jump. That's the different between 49 percentile to 94 percentile. It's more to it than parents donating to a university.

My guess is that it won’t be connected to that case unless the school was still on probation from the last set of cases.

Considering that the last case was OJ Mayo, who left the school in 2009-2010, I would think the feds would have to have proof of wrongdoing going back to probably 2014-2015.

Considering that it is a top 25 school and ranked ahead of UCLA plus has an acceptance rate of about 13%, it is considered prestigious enough. All of that prestige was bought after the huge fund raising the last two presidents spear headed and is also what has led to most of our problems. Cash over everything.

USC apparently has the same admission standards as the South Harmon Institute of Technology.

I have a problem with Lori Loughlin and her dime piece, half-wit daughter not being admitted into Yale solely on her beauty and contacts in the entertainment industry.

I don’t want to live in a world where being pretty and having money can’t get you everything in life. What’s there left to aspire to in a world like that?

The father of a girl I dated from Houma who was dumb as a box of rocks made a big contribution to Loyola so that she could go there — she flunked out after a year

Knew someone who did something similar - guy got a full scholarship for baseball. IIRC, he didn't show up til about halfway through the 1st week of classes, ended up on probation by the next semester and was just quit before the end of the 1st year. Heard that he liked the fun but didn't like bothering with classes all that much.

I get the whole “I thought big donations were the way to get your kid in” point. But maybe it’s because coaches and admissions counselors personally received millions, as opposed to the school generally or even a board of the school?

Does Aunt Becky's daughter look like she needs a USC degree to move ahead in life?

No, but those looks and that film degree from USC, not to mention all the connections made there, sure make life a metric frick-ton easier.

If I were Will Wade, I’d be negotiating for a shared cell with Aunt Becky! Not that either of them or guilty or anything ??
