I personally like it for my application as clutches are much cheaper then heavy duty transmissions

A h.s. kid comes up and asks if he can drive my 1930 Model A pickup in the homecoming parade at his school. I asked his age (insurance) and he was 18 so I said he could. Then he asked "it is an automatic?" I shook my head and said "no, it is an unsynchronized 3 speed." He could not drive it and I wasn't going to let him learn on my truck. Next day, the FFA sweetheart asked to use it and she could drive a stick shift truck.
