I have a mickey mantle and reggie jackson autographed baseballs. They are real but they are not certified. Anywhere that yall know of around here that I can drop them off for authentication? Or is dallas or houston my closest place.

Send them to me and I will verify for you...

Not sure if any local place.
Hope you aren't trying to sell them. They aren't really worth a whole bunch. Great players and awesome for a personal collection, but i don't think together they would fetch but $200 at max. That may even be pushing it.

Im not trying to sell them really, but I know they are worth more with certification of authenticity.
That being said, the mantle baseballs that I see are a lot more than 200$. Are they not selling for that? I genuinely dont know as I havent seriously tried to sell them.

You can send them to PSA.

I apologize.
Apparently I haven't kept up with this in awhile. I see the Mantle one is worth some decent money.

My thoughts are that if I sell the Mantle, I could buy 5 or six others that are still alive and when they die, they will get valuable. I would then sell them and buy 5 more etc etc.
Im sure that it wont work in reality but it works in my head.

Nostalgia.... I remember when I was a kid I won a autographed Jordan rookie card only to have the guy get busted for for scamming people with fake autographs. Made everything he signed worthless!

If they are worth certifying, use PSA or a similar agency. I believe it is PSA that has a low priced "review based on a photo" that will give you a prescreen. It is not as good as a full review (one of these informed me that my Alfred Hitchcock signature was fake - which was true unfortunately).

PSA is the standard for sports autograph authentication

Both were/are prolific signers, so unless you are seeking game used authenticiy it isn't worth the price..

Problem is not many names like "Mantle" out there. He is in a class shared by few, if any

Agreed, a "Mike Trout" signed baseball in 2060 won't be worth (in relative terms) what a Mantle signed baseball is today.
Hang on to the Mantle, it will appreciate better than any/all five current players' memorabilia will.

If you're in Baton Rouge, go see my friend Bruce at Primetime Sports on Sherwood Forest Blvd. He will help you out.

Mantle is one of the most sought after autographs out there. A psa certified mantle is $400-500, but will probably cost close to $100 to get a 3rd party opinion. (Sometimes there are specials) you can mail it off for certification if you don't want to go to a show. Mantle is probably the most forged signature out there. Reggie Jackson is worth about $50-75.
One option is to get a psa/DNA "quick opinion" on ebay. You can list the ball for sale and then order the quick opinion for like $7. They'll tell you if it looks good or not. If yes then you may consider sending in for certification. If no, then don't waste your money.
Another option is to wait for James spence authentication to come to a local card shop. They've come to prime time sports in Baton Rouge a couple times. They are also a reputable authentication company and usually cheaper but will also sell lower. Psa/DNA is the gold standard.
As for selling it to buy more hof autographs I think hank Aaron and Willie mays are good investments. Both selling around $100-125 which is cheap compared to other hofers of their caliber. Mantle is a fan favorite and passed away before the autograph craze really hit though so I doubt they will increase to his level.
Also if you want to post a pic I can probably get a good evaluation for you from a guy I know. The key is usually the top of the "M's" they should be round as opposed to pointed like a lot of the fakes.

If you want to know if they're real but don't really care about the little sticker you'll get with PSA join Autographs 101 on Facebook and ask, those guys will help you.
