if the teachers thought it was a bomb, did they think him just putting it in his backpack would stop it somehow?

serious question

It's crazy to ask a human being to have some complex thought passed the level of an apes half cousin?

Or should we support the highest and cognitively advanced beings have their thought processes on the level of a squirrel?

You guys are suggesting that we discriminate our stimuli and ideas on the level of merger instinctual animals that only live in the present because they have no conscience your knowledge of a future and a past.

If you're okay with your fellow man being reduced to the mind of a dog, well then you probably don't expect much of yourself

I think it was probably obvious that it wasn't a real bomb. It's also obvious that he built it to resemble a bomb.

I don't know. It's obvious he's a fricking terrorist though. I hope he and his family are on all the terrorist watch lists now.

serious question

I'm guessing they eventually thought it resembled a bomb. Having it at school was enough to possibly cause panic to ensue by others that might see it and not know what it was. By him refusing their request to put it away opened up the possibility of that panic, and you can't have that in a school room setting.

I would compare it to carrying around a fake gun. If the school realized it was a fake gun, wouldn't they still have an obligation to have that person remove the gun from sight as to not cause any panic? And if that person directly refused to abide by that request, shouldn't they be reprimanded accordingly?

I really don't give a shite about this. 99% of these "OMG" stories shouldn't go beyond a local snipit in the newspaper. But media (social and "legit") and politics can't let a good "ah ha" moment go to waste. No different than the court reporter.

Pretty much is what they are doing. And the fact they say the kid, not parent, called a lawyer after being handcuffed for no reason.

i think in their minds they were concerned but trying to give him the benefit of the doubt but his actions forced them to take action. Again, deductive reasoning. You have to look at everything as a whole vs. individually.

The problem is certain groups want to use the situation to support their narrative so they take shortcuts to thinking.

You keep saying he refused requests to put it away. No evidence of that. The only evidence was he took it out for a time in 6th period.

Are you really comparing a pop tart shaped like a gun (really like the letter "L" sideways) to something that closely resembles a bomb in a briefcase on a cursory glance??

Apples to oranges much??

What is your point? You do know a battery can be plugged in within seconds right?
