That’s what the majority of people waste their good years doing, and then spend their later years telling their grandkids about all the things they wish they had done.

This is true for a lot of things. Climbing Everest, however, is little more than just a goofy rich person stunt at this point.

I think it would be cool to climb Everest but I hate cold weather.

Kyle Maynard "climbed" to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro unassisted in 2012.

You think it gets him laid?

I have actually started to train for it but not sure I will ever attempt it. Last week I made it to the summit of Driskill with out any oxegen or acclimation. Excited for the next step of the journey.

I used to want to. I read a ton of books on it. I even went as far as seeking out some sponsors. Had a supplement company, fitness app, and a travel agent interested. But my interest fizzled out rather quickly.

Nah, that isn't any fun. I have a friend whose dad attempted it in the late 80s. Said he trained for like a year and a half walking up other high mountains and working out with a mask on. Didn't make it up, but made it to 27,000ft or something IIRC

Can’t wait to plant the Salt Life flag on the summit. Or should I bring the 30-A flag?

I've heard that it's the final 200 feet that make or break the man attempting the summit.

I'm sure it gives him at least standing chance.

Lame.

Same saying in every similar thread from people who, admittedly, would rather sit around in a chair watching TV.

It’s like $80,000 to attempt a climb, btw.

Not only that, from start to finish it takes around 60-65 days to complete.

Right, don't people typically spend weeks at Base Camp getting acclimated before they actually head up? No thanks.
