This guy tried city life for a while then converted to country living, to mixed results.

City when you're young, country when you're older. I did the first in fort Worth while renting, then bought a house a half mile from the beach in corpus, now I'm on a couple acres in the country and wouldn't have it any other way.

City limits..
But not in the heart of the center. Too congested. And country is way too boring

Country. Cities suck.

Sort of depends on the city and the country.
But in general, give me a bustling city over a boring place in the country all day.

I live in the county. I'm not ever going to live in a town or city. When things go bad, people would wish they were outside the city limits.

Moving to the country next month. 20 acres. My biggest hope is that I don’t spend all day on this board and other social media and actually enjoy nature more once I’m there.

I prefer the country for life and career. I lived in small town Gumpistan for 5 years before moving back to B Ara and I miss it every day.
Most people regardless of background where much more respectful. I could ride my motorcycle without fear of death and my commute was 3 minutes.
This is why we’re headed to West, Northwest or North Arkansas.

I’d rather live in the country but work makes me live in the city. If I could I would buy 500 acres about an hr from Baton Rouge and work remote.
Land outside of B Ara is selling for 10 to 15k per acre. I’m always looking for a nice place is in Slaughter or Clinton. If you cross over the Mississippi line it gets much cheaper.

Not even close. Country or small town.

Cities are poison. Move to the burbs, country will highway access to burbs is even better.

Lived country for the first 22 years of my life, city the past 10. Give me city living all day. Country living is too boring and inconvenient. I don’t enjoy having to drive 15 minutes for the nearest grocery store or restaurant.

Country preferred but stuck in the city 9 more years then I’m out to the mountains.

Small town near large city (1 hour away is good). I am not an urbanite but not farmer either. I would like a little more land than I have - an acre would be good enough for me.

Depends where the small town is.
Grew up in a small town with 1000 population. Knew everyone, the worst thing we ever did was drink beer out in a barn at a farm. If you wanted to experience more city, we would make the 35 minute trek to Champaign-Urbana or W Lafayette (UofI or Purdue). It was a great place to when you’re young.
I prefer living in a place like Lexington. Big enough as a city...but still has a town vibe.

I'm tired of this dirty old city
And tired of too much work
And never enough play
And I'm tired of these dirty old sidewalks Think I'll walk off my steady job today
Turn me loose, set me free
Somewhere in the middle of Montana
And give me all I've got coming to me
And You can keep your retirement
And your so-called Social Security
Big city turn me loose and set me free
