For some reason, East Cleveland, OH (very similar to New Orleans East) has mountains in their city seal.

Buffalo Traces are well known in that area of the country. The first roads were Bison migration paths and the associated migrant hunting paths created by humans following the animals.
The sunken bison trail is still visible in some places:
