Since they no longer help fund events like that. I think there should be gates set up and people checking ids.. if you live in that area.. kick rocks

Assuming you meant, if you don't live in the area kick rocks,

That's a marvelous plan to turn BR into Detroit. What about the Mall of Louisiana? Might as well make it shopping for Baton Rouge city residents ONLY too.....

Funny part? Mall of LA is about half-in half-out because of how Kip handled things.

I'm not sure if you intended this to be some chuckle joke but you sound like an idiot

If St George prevents bag o donuts performing in BR for the 30th time this year I consider that a win

Looooool

You simply do not understand the purpose of events like Live After 5- they are promotional events for the city put on by local retailers, not little harvest festivals put on for the townfolk

How are these festivals funded? Out of the general fund?

When St. George residents pay sales taxes to businesses located in the city of BR, aren't they funding the general fund?

Also, should they ban people from Zachary, Baker, Ascension, etc from attending? I mean, fair is fair.

What was the % vote distribution for or against St George? I haven’t seen it mentioned here yet or do we know?

Scruffy can only imagine your opinion of all those freeloaders from outside BR who visited those festivals in the past.

Should probably put them to death, right?

If you exclude the anchor stores and some out parcels then you are correct

Its going to be funny when they cancel Live After 5 all together when they can't afford to put it on anymore with the lost St George area revenue

As someone else already mentioned, I'm also pretty sure I read where the Live After Five is funded by the Downtown Merchants Association which is private money, not government money. I think Channel 9 (WAFB) also sponsors some of those events.

The Downtown Development District may kick in a little money out of its "promotions" budget.

The only possible cost to the city would be any BRPD overtime, if any, for their presence at the events downtown.

I've heard that once SG incorporates if a SG resident gets mugged or injured while he's in Baton Rouge, the BRPD officer will tell him to call his own police chief to work the crime scene.

Educate me here, the anchor stores aren't in Baton Rouge? The map shows the entire area cut out of St. George

Without the city of St. George people attending, it will be dead after five from all the shootings.
