Do you expect them to work for free? I’m the first to say La is a shithole, but I don’t see any salaries there that look abnormal.

If anything most look below the private market.

Police are making plenty enough $, especially considering the terrible job they're doing. Scroll through the list - there's hundreds of police making 100k+

Going by last names, it appears rather shockingly so.

Other than 30 executive assistants to one person making way over market, so much on that list are doctors or highly specialized fields (aviation)

Specialized fields, especially medicine, have higher paid positions and even then, the gov position is usually still lower than the private sector

Show me the street sweeper earning 150k to go along with the 382 executive assistants to the mayor

I don't think anything of the top list, that is honestly on par for any city NOLA's size. What is eye opening is there being 7 executive assistants all making 115-160k annually. That salary is not typical in the private sector, not is it typical for an 'executive' to require anymore than two assistants. If it were only a singular, maybe even two making 100-120k, then that would seem appropriate, or at least more appropriate.

Pick 100 random people from that list making an average of $150k a year. Fire them on the spot.

Then come back a year later and tell me two things:

1) how many of them replaced those jobs in the private sector at or above their city salary?

2) what city services ceased to function when they were terminated?

You have your answer

1) isn't she supposed to be making 80% of what he makes?
2) Two exec assistants both making over 150k?
