And this is obviously a different sort of crime than we normally encounter in the black community.

I mean, in truth, most "white crime" is probably domestic/conflict based, and most "black crime" is probably the same, perhaps with the addition of increased gang/disrespect/etc.-based crime.

Mental illness crimes, or at least crimes committed predominantly because of mental illness (that bear little relationship to an observable underlying cause, like greed or gang affiliation) make up a small percentage of either groups' criminal activity.

Is the inner city thug targeting everyone at the birthday party or just one or two and everyone else is collateral damage?

The mass shooters like the incident yesterday are targeting everyone. They want to kill as many as possible. Doesn't that make it a different circumstance as the idiot shooting at the party trying to kill his one enemy but hitting 6 in the process?

Those stats must not count random drivebys as rampage killings because that crap happens in black hoods all the time

The point that we should focus on the crime/victims is fine. You coming in on your high horse, despite being uninformed about the current status of the situation, is laughable. So frick right off.

they usually carefully define the terms after looking at the data to eliminate

1. mass violence associated with organized crime
2. mass violence under the amounts typically associated with organized crime

the authors of those studies define the terms to get the results they want. there are studies showing mass shootings are going down, like all other violent crime, too.

Life comes with risks. You can't legislate away risk 100%. We're already living in the safest time in the history of man. Not saying we can't improve, but saying shite like "if it saves a single life" is a straight appeal to emotions.
