I have an 11 month old, $1700 a month in daycare expenses, and I won't be getting these checks.

Enjoy my tax dollars.

Bitching about a handout giveaway but probably would talk shite about someone else getting it. Hypocrisy.

Take it and shut up or refuse it and keep quiet.

My good "Conservative Republican" friends, a couple, talk shite every day about all the give away crap yet when their parents got ready for the nursing home they rapidly ran around trying to hide money so they could get it and their parents would not have to pay the nursing home.

And, they were the first ones to start checking the mailbox every day for a stimulus.

Those who cry the loudest cheat the most. Screw them. I did not get a stimulus, did not deserve it, and this giveaway shite that everyone, rich and poor alike, are begging for, will come back to bite us in the arse.

It’s 300 for kids 1-6, 250 for kids 7-17. Seems you got the correct amount

You need to be more aggressive with your deductions. Theoretically, 1099ers and self employed should benefit the most from this as there is more you can deduct. Being aggressive with your taxes should allow you to take the cash now and finagle your taxes in a way where you do not increase your burden

For this year, half the credit, as several have pointed out is 3600 for 6 and under and 3000 for over 6... Half the credit is paid as an "advanced credit" (exact same as the stimulus checks... An advanced tax credit)
And is paid out over the last 6 months

The rest of the credit will be applied on your 2021 return

800 was the correct amount. And that's what you'll get through December

We got a check for $330 (for two kids). I'm not sure what that's about.

I am under the assumption that we have to pay it back when taxes are due, since we make more than $150k combined.

So your AGI is north 400k? Congrats if so, but most of the OTers who have kids and didn't opt out will get these checks, including the fricking dorks posting variations of the "durr, I pay muh taxes."

No clue why people either lie about something that is easily verifiable or post about something they don't understand.
