When determining what the monthly payments will be, do they only consider what I make, or will my spouse's income also be added? I wouldn't think my wife should be responsible for my child support, but idk?
Thx

They use an equation to sort it out.
Good luck.
Words of wisdom. Don't fight with the ex and hope she finds happiness. Otherwise it'll be miserable

We have had a verbal agreement that I've been abiding to for the past 14 years or so. She's gett remarried. She's not asking for an increase in the amount. What she is asking for I don't particularly care for. I only have about 3 years before he turns 18. I'm just curious if the courts take both of our incomes into the formula or is it just mine? I'd like to know before I tell her to GFH.

Not sure about Louisiana but in Texas it's just yours and its up to a certain income. So it would be like 20% of first 120k your income

There is a formula they use that takes into account your income and hers.

What is she asking for that you don't like?

They have a chart,it takes both into consideration. That's how it was in Alabama.

You should be good since babysitters get paid in cash.

In Alabama, they add the income of the custodial parent and the non custodial parent together.
They then have a chart that shows how much "support" for the child based on that income.
The support of the child is then based on the percentage of the total income the NCP makes times the support figure.
Example
Custodial Parent Makes $40k
NCP makes $60 k
Total income is $100,000. Chart says that $500 is the corresponding support amount.
NCP pays 60% of $500 or $300 per month.
There are other things that can be factored in, such as insurance costs.

It all depends on how many other baby mamas you got.
