The Annulment Process can be brutal, that's for sure.
Marriage is a serious thing and should be treated seriously.
You would agree that the world would be a better place without divorce, so fighting against the mechanisms that keep the bond sacred is not in anyone's best interest.
I've seen this process firs hand, I can see the bitterness and grief it causes people, but the Sacrament and Institution of Marriage must be protected.
God Bless your mother for getting through it.

You so angry you don't even acknowledge who you are replying to.
Go say 10 hail Mary's and pick up all the dog turds in the park while you repent

Well that is, of course, unless the Church wanted to find a reason to get rid of this guy. Then it’s fine

Even Protestants see the benefits of confessing sins and shortcomings to spiritual advisors. How could it possibility be ridiculous to evaluate your life on the routine basis, then audibly through a guided process: ask for forgiveness, pledge to cease the sinful act, then put goodness back into the world that your sin took from it? Confession is a gift from Jesus that is well documented in the Gospels, it is life changing and is beneficial to your soul and society.
Holy frick. What a cult lol

Ok sure it is. But so is what the other guy said and you didn’t deny that
Religion does some absolutely batshit things to peoples mental capacities lol

So many angles of hypocrisy here, I think I will just leave it at that.

Having a child out of wedlock isn’t a sin. Premarital sex is. People do that all the time.

Went to Catholic school. One of my friends confessed some shite to the priest and that cocksucker went and told his dad. Kid got his arse beat. From that day forward I never confessed shite to those lying fricks.

Have seen several teachers get fired from Catholic schools for being pregnant out of wedlock.

You do not understand confession, my friend.
Very few Catholics do understand the purpose of a priest in confession.
“Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
But the second part of this is that the priest isn’t just a “middle man.” His job it to help intercede, to pray for you and in some cases offer to God a penance himself on behalf of the confessor. He is also there to serve as a spiritual advisor to help avoid the sin again.

Anyone in Catholic education in the Archdiocese does have to sign a morality clause, and a child out of wedlock would break said clause.
From the institution that brings you closeted gay sex and pedophilia on such a grsnd scale and then protects its predators…….

Something tells me there is more to this story.
The claim the priest broke the seal of confession is a major red flag. That is something that just doesn’t happen. The penalty is severe both earthly and in the after life.

Vow of celibacy is not practical in this life.
1 Corinthians 7:2 - Even Paul acknowledged it and considered celibacy a gift from God (vs 7)

This is why confession is retarded. You don’t need a middle man for forgiveness. All you’re doing is telling some guy the bad things you did and now he knows the bad things you did.
Typical advice for people who want to hide their sins and pretend to repent and not be held accountable for repentance.
And before you say just don't sin. we all sin and fall short of Gods glory.
To act like it's not a big deal and you can just keep sinning then say sorry God every once in awhile is exactly the watered down truth I have been talking about in other threads.
Watered down truth is NOT Truth.

yall sure do hate the Church founded by Peter.
God founded his Church. A long time ago. See Ephesians 3.
But, to your point, no, I don’t hate the Roman Catholic expression of God’s Church.
