I'd say fire them all... but... that would realistically be impossible to replace.

Fire them all and make the kids pick up highway litter all day then.

Tell us you have no idea how to manage anything without telling us.

Who will teach school once everyone is fired?

They can be replaced.

Worst case scenario, you go fully online with an existing educational company that specializes in the field.

The cost of the program would be magnitudes less than teacher’s salaries and benefits.

Chicago teachers: Refuse to teach in person
Teachers' paychecks: Refuse to show up to teachers' bank accounts in person,

Problem solved.

We’re in a pretty progressive district and created virtual academies where families (and some staff) could choose to go virtual. A few thousand have opted for the virtual. We haven’t seen anything to indicate it’s spreading in school where we have some distancing and masks.

Right now it’s not our teachers screaming about wanting to virtual (we hated virtual). It’s the parents. They’re accusing the district of fudging COVID case numbers (we’re not, parents didn’t understand the public dashboard is not cumulative but what is currently quarantined). They’re demanding teachers deep clean between classes even though multiple studies have shown surface transmission is almost non-existent. They’re upset that we have a bus driver shortage because it’s a shite job no one wants to do because of their shitty kids.

You should know by now facts don't really mean much to those folks. Feelings drive everything.

Why did you bump up this very old thread?

Here is an update on the situation:

Chicago school officials announce mandatory in-person attendance in the fall
Alexander Fangmann
2 June 2021

"At a school board meeting on May 26, Chicago Public Schools (CPS) officials announced plans to require full-time, in-person learning starting in the fall, with few exceptions. The move to end remote learning in Chicago and throughout the state, even while large numbers of parents continue to keep their children learning safely at home, is part of a national campaign to declare an end to the pandemic and send both children and workers back to unsafe buildings to increase the wealth of the superrich.

A report in the Chicago Sun-Times about the plans, which have not been finalized, suggests in-person attendance will be mandatory for all students, except for those who are “medically fragile and immunocompromised.”

the only “rich” people who give a shite what happens in Chicago public schools are the teacher union heads who rake in illicit funding

These are hard times. It really helped us a lot that now that we can get quality education and services online, we don't have to leave our home. Many are now having learning problems. Therefore, I used these services often LINK to find a professional who could help me with writing various academic papers.

"They" are a few loudmouths, nothing more. But there is nothing more pusillanimous than school bureaucrats in the face of tiny numbers of Karens. They buckle every time.

Why does this thread keep getting bumped? I'm friends with a couple of CPS teachers, and they're back in their actual classrooms.
