The scanner traffic last night in Chicago was just unreal. What coverage this does get will likely not include the shooting calls in the double digits, police legitimately trying to do their jobs, but being overwhelmed, or the panic in everyone's voices. The dispatchers were even on edge.
I will say, I have listened to a lot of riot responses over the past few months, and every city has had varying degrees of success in handling it. Some wouldn't even allow officers to try to gain control. Chicago wasn't one of those cities last night. They had every available officer on the ground. They were making arrests and going into extremely bad situations while being greatly outnumbered. The fact that they were allowed to make an effort was, at least somewhat, encouraging to see.

This is all showing the true colors of people.
The people that are doing this looting and rioting are doing so because they are no longer afraid of retribution for breaking the social contract. This means they were never social creatures to begin with, only the fear held them back.
Time to instill some fear if you want this to stop. Bringing the pain will be the only way to engage the reptile brain.
