Yeah I don't care as much as I used to. I still enjoy the game, but I figured this was a 3-4 loss team before the season.
Not being prepared for openers, receiving when winning the opening toss, and losing at least 3 games a year is about all that paying Kelly $10 million a year on top of what the players get guarantees us (besides having to pay it).
I rarely watch games anymore and just pay attention through a score app and game threads while doing other stuff. I had to take dog out outside when LSU was down 17 to 20 and forgot to check on it when I got back inside. When I remembered I decided finding out final score could wait until morning.
I was kind of disappointed when I saw pictures of field and saw that they didn’t use the grass field. I thought turf was just for UNLV games.

Years ago, I would've taken it hard. But, honestly, so much of the college game now such as the transfer portal, political activism, NIL, etc has distanced me from it that a loss registers only as an annoyance now.

I watched the LSU game last night from beginning to end and while the last half minute was disappointing, it was a great game for both teams.
Last weekend I watched 4 pro football games and there was no aggression, no hard hitting and a new gay as hell kickoff procedure.
If you like football in the way it should be played, collage is where it is at

I'm there also but we travelled to the game. Still, had a great trip and had fun times with friends. We did a road trip to the Grand Canyon, came back to Vegas for the game, and about to make our way home. Definitely more road trips in our future but not so invested (mental health wise) in the outcome of the game.

I was lucky enough to be distracted in the third quarter and missed the end of the game.

Solid thread. I was thinking about this last night while scrolling through the Rant.
I sit here and question why I even go to that board. The people on that board piss me off more than the results of the actual game.
When the game was over, I felt a little irritated for a few minutes and I got back to taking care of a few things around the house.
Maybe it’s me getting a little older. But I just don’t seem to have the bandwidth to deal with a lot of it anymore. I still enjoy it and I’m going to watch, but the total emotional investment into something that I’ve loved for a long time definitely is fading, no doubt about it.

After 2019 I knew I'd never see an LSU team like that again, considered that the finale and anything after is just lagniappe now.
Totally agree with you. I still watch the games but no longer feel an emotional angst over losses anymore. I turned off the TV as soon as the game ended and moved on.

Every day when I wake up, I don't let the old man in...

Life goes on. It's just a game, over which we, as fans, have NO control.
You can't control when the refs are going to call a penalty and when they are going to turn a blind eye to obvious holding (all night long).
You can't control what plays are called (running into a 9-man front).
You can't control the immature actions of kids on the field (showboating and unsportsmanlike antics).
All you can control is your reaction. I'm still a fan, but LSU football is less enjoyable as a semi-pro game.

Told myself several years ago that I was going to stop getting emotionally distraught over something I couldn’t control. Life is way too short. Traveled to the game and don’t regret it but didn’t let the loss ruin the trip. Nothing I could do to have any impact on the results and I will continue to live by that.

Anything after Saban and 2003 was lagniappe. The 2007 and 2019 teams were more icing on the cake.

When you watch the games and see how so many of the players are over it right after the clock hits 0:00, you realize it’s pointless to let it affect you personally

No worries. We’ll come back strong and beat Nicholls! Beating Nicholls is just as good.

Check in if your day/week/year was not ruined by an LSU football loss.
If, as a fan, your day/week/year WAS ruined by ANY football loss... or made better by ANY football win... you have serious problems and need to reevaluate your life. It's a ballgame. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm all in when they are doing well but I can easily disconnect and it not bother me when they aren't. I went to bed in the 3rd quarter last night since I was going hunting this morning. I have better things to do than get worked up over football.
If I'm not feeling well or nothing is going on I do enjoy watching football all day.
Are the guys posting constantly on the scoreboard during a game watching it alone? I was watching with friends and didn't even think to check it until I went home after halftime. Must be some lonely dudes or something.
