My normal 1 to 1.5 hour commute from work in Baton Rouge only took me 30 minutes. The road system here is about adequate when 70 percent of the work force is off on holiday.

Damn that blows. How far out do you live? My 15-20 minute commute was about 10 today.

I didn't commute today, but when I do it's from the shower to the coffee pot to my desk. And sometimes I turn on the local news to check on everyone else's commute time. Life is good!

quit being an inconsiderate a-hole and clogging up the interstate everyday. Move closer to work like a normal human.

My usual 15 second walk from bedroom to office was not affected.

Normally 45-50 min, but last week was an hour 15 pretty much every day but Friday, due to fog and idiots driving.

Today, 25 min.

Usually about 40% of the working age adults are actually working anyway. Really goes to show you that the road system sucks in Louisiana.

I'd move to Zachary, Central or St Francisville

Same here. My drive to the orthodontist for my daughters appointment was about 12 minutes instead of closer to a half hour. And as a bonus I scheduled her next one for Presidents’ Day.

I did go full-blown stupid today, though. I needed to go to the post office because I have something that needs to go registered mail, so I figured my day off would be a great day to go.

I didn't figure it out until I got there. In my defense, I don't work for the gubmint, so today wasn't a holiday for me, I just had the day off randomly.

I find the gasoline culture of commuting soul-sucking.
