Every expert Ive read or watched says there is about a 1% protection benefit to me spreading my germs and no protection to me from others germs when I wear a mask. But it has become social etiquette to wear one, similar to holding a door open for others or saying thank you. So I wear mine when social etiquette dictates.

That's a reasonable take.

Although I'm willing to bet the vast majority of people are not cleaning their masks, therefore it's a traveling petri dish that they are continuously putting on their mouth and nose.

I’m high risk because of an autoimmune issue and a med that increases that issue. I haven’t been inside anywhere because of people like you. My Mom is 87. She also has an autoimmune issue.
Hope you feel like big man on campus. What a rebel. You should be proud.

Actually a legitimate reason for wearing one.

Going to Costco? Not so much IMHO...

Still haven't worn one and I am 63! My choice! It didn't take me long to realize the Dems and media were a bigger threat to us than the virus! Scary to think how easily the Dems with their media friends were able to instill fear so quickly in the masses. The Socialist are smiling at how easy it was to implement their policies as well! Trump & the Senate better put the clamps on Chuck & Nancy's continued agenda!

That's a bummer.

So you're suggesting we should rearrange every part of our society to accommodate your conditions? Should everyone wear a new Tyvek suit every time they leave their house? What about a respirator or supplied air system? UV sterilizers required in all HVAC systems in the country?

Where do you draw the line?

Just wear a damn mask. It’s pretty simple. Your post is out of line.

Why? It's not clear there are any benefits. And I'm not the only person saying that, a great many "experts" agree.

Now that they are required on airplanes how long will that last? Indefinitely? Part of the new normal the media want to usher in? Part of the great flying experience we retained post 9/11?

This is the issue at hand. The people who want control want you to obey their rules whether they make sense or not. If you don't or question it, you're "out of line" or "unreasonable" or "selfish".

I have. But I’m in Nashville and wife is a healthcare worker who has treated rona patients. I don’t wanna be asymptomatic and be the reason some old person gets it and dies.

IN! Although that's going to change because work will force us to. I hate wearing things on my face. After spending so much time in hospitals wearing an oxygen mask, it's not for me, but I will if I have to, because I am an adult.

I haven't worn a mask, but I also really haven't left the house except to pick up food a handful of times.

I'll probably wear a mask when I have to go into work on Monday. There's no good reason why the higher ups are making us come in.

I honestly dont know how else to respond. I am not at risk so I'm going to go out, and if others are they shouldnt. So let's use this logic and lets say one of your house members is high risk but you arent. So they stay at home, but you go out and interact with the world. Because you do so, you know get it but are asymptomatic. You then bring the virus into your house and the person quarantining staying at home now gets it because of you. Awesome

how are you properly sterilizing your mask?

I haven't. I won't. I feel those most at risk should avoid going out. I need my freedom.
