My parents banked with Chase and I had to deal with them when my father passed. They were awful to deal with, lied to me, refused to speak with our family attorney, and forced me to bring my mother who has dementia to the bank to transfer her money to another bank. Never dealt with a worse bunch of corporate morons. Bank with regional bank all day every day

Opening local account in the morning. Chase bought out a local bank decades ago, how I ended up with them. Before this, no major problems.

First Horizon did it to me when they bought out Iberia Bank. To be fair they wouldn't let me get more than $1000 out of one of my checking accounts on a Saturday when I was trying to pay the crew that was doing the roof on my mom's house due to some rule they have so I made an arse out of myself.
I told them if they are open for business then I should have full access to my funds.
I went down to Chase the same day and got the money out of one of my other accounts. Come Monday the manager called me and told me to come get my funds in the form of a cashier's check. No loss. I was only banking there still as a holdover from when they were Cameron State Bank and I knew the manager at the local branch.

I was Power of Atty for my Dad and now Executor of his estate. I have already moved $100,000 of his Chase account into a credit union cd. I will soon distribute the other $75,000 to my 2 siblings and me. We won’t be putting the money back into Chase bank.

Have no clue if true, but it reminds me a little of the Amazon Prime customer getting account suspended and affecting some security cams because an Amazon Prime delivery guy thought automated message on doorbell cam purchased from Amazon sounded racist. Amazon eventually reinstated account, but it was several weeks later.
A bank doing similar would have a much larger effect on person. For a bank to be able to cut off a customer from his or her money even temporarily is closer to a punitive action.
Even if OP inflamed situation and used every word in the book a bank should not be able to immediately shut off customer from money without some warning and reasonable time to switch.

I have also banked with Chase for 40 yrs and have a shitton of money in their bank in numerous vectors. If they cancel me out they better dam sure be calling me to ask where to put my funds...
I have received no notice on my checking account. While trying to find out why my credit cards were cancelled I asked about my checking account. Told it was closed. Asked about my funds and told that they would either mail a check or I could speak with branch manager. I called branch and have an appt. at 9.
They said a letter had been sent on the 13th. I have received nothing. If Amazon had not declined a purchase of coffee we would have not known.

Hancock Whitney is the way to go if you value customer service. Some of the lower level employees are still common nimrods but your overall experience will be much better.
