would overheat till shutdown then start working again once cooled down.
During Covid, then 2 years later had this exact same problem.
It got really bad during the pandemic. Every day, unless it rained, during the summer, it would go in and out of service from about 10AM - 8PM. Some days were not as bad as others, but then some days it would go out for an hour, work for 15 mins the go in an out for the next two hours. People were calling on a daily basis and then people were starting to switch to AT&T and then they came out. It took them 4 or 5 days. They had to run new lines, etc.. And it worked with no problem until I think 2022 or 2023.. Then during that summer, it would start going out. It wasn't as bad, but they eventually had a crew out who worked on things for a few days to fix it.
But it does go out periodically. And it usually seems like its right before a sporting event I want to watch. Last night I had to go to some graduation open houses, but wanted to watch the beginning of the LSU game and it was out. During football season it went out on a Saturday.. before the LSU game.
It went out right before one of the LSU women's basketball games in the NCAA tournament.
And with all of that, I still much rather cox than AT&T

Two weeks ago, I went to Cox to turn in my cable boxes because we were going to streaming. She told me kinda trying to keep it on the down low that they lose dozens of customers a day.

Hopefully they'll name the merged company "SuperCox"

I thought this may be neutral or good until I read that Charter used to be Spectrum.
Spectrum is legendarily bad.

With this news I just want to take the opportunity to say......frick AT&T.

Cox sucks, but I'm having so many issues with AT&T that I'm seriously considering going back to them.

I hope this goes through and the industry needs to shrink. DISH Network is about to go bankrupt. They lost their arse on Q1 financials, and many predict they are about to file Chapter 8. DIRECTV tried to buy them last year, but DISH walked away at the last minute.
Not sure they have a lifeline left.

I'm fortunate that I have FTTH available where I live.
Symmetrical 1 GBPS internet with no data cap + Apple TV box + Youtube TV. Although with the standalone streaming ESPN app coming later this year I'll probably ditch Youtube TV as well.
No contracts, no cable company bullshite.
