least the Democrats have abandoned any pretense of justice or fairness. If there is any “moderate” on here that try to say both sides are the same, they can go frick themselves.

They're addicted to symbolism. It's a fricking cult

A quasi religious morality cult.

gradually I think I'm coming to grips that it's less "worst case scenario" and more what's actually happening

rational thought gets you ostracized on all the mainstream channels of social interaction. Our government cares more about appeasing an angry mob than it does enforcing our laws. Our Constitutional rights have been trampled on to an unprecedented degree due to a global pandemic. There is a powerful, extremely anti-Western nation in China poised to take full advantage as we struggle with internal strife.

I feel we are in real trouble, heading for realer trouble, and anyone that doesn't really see it is kind of denial about the reality of this situation.

He was probably referencing the No Harm, No Foul Ruling of 1981

Also in reference to the taser, Finders Keepers Ruling of 1985

What are the odds of the trial being moved due to the Mayor and what she has said about this case to prospective jurors?

Probably pretty good. The DA grandstanding will help to.

After watching the video though, I don't see any way he's convicted.

Watch the jury makeup, it will be rigged against him.

Didn’t he shoot him in the back and the coroner ruled it a homicide? Police chief voluntarily stepped down to make way for change and she is quoted as saying so herself.

I can't tell if this is serious or a troll. If a troll nice job, if serious

This is what terrifies and disheartens me the most.

So can this cop waive a jury and just have a judge give a verdict?

I would think so, but I can't seem to find any specific Georgia laws for a bench trial.

Probably still makes sense to go the jury route though. You only need one of the 12 people to be reasonable.

I'm just now seeing that. Good. He will need all the help he can get.

Thanks

By an Atlanta-based jury whipped up into a frenzy? Are you kidding me?

No, I'm not.

You realize the defendant has a say so as to who is on the jury too, right?

He got bond for his agreement. Don’t think they could have put the exact same charges on him. Also, have we seen his bodycam video? I’m thinking that’s the one that shows the kicking and standing because I never saw that.

Folks need to take the time to watch the Fulton County DA presentation in full...he states Brooks was cooperative, friendly, and barely drunk...he said after Brooks was shot the officer walked over and started kicking him and standing on his body for 2 minutes

Yeah he lied, we know, that’s the issue.

I've had a bad feeling for months now that we are watching the realtime rapid decline of our nation.

It sounds alarmist, but I can't shake the idea that it's true. Our government has seemed incompetent during COVID, and now is beholden to a mob.

I still believe politics are local - there are plenty (perhaps the majority) of places where things are perfectly "normal". This kind of thing happening in Atlanta and other large cities has been believable for quite some time.
