Hate the slippery slope argument - that still hasn't changed.

Snowflake isn't really my style either.

The system has checks and balances, and he's assuredly going to be found not guilty, but charging him with murder is ridiculous in the first place.

Correct.

But I am guessing that the DA's relationship with the department is pretty fricked by now.

One of my favorites the DA said about Brooks not being a threat: When the taser was fired at the officer the prongs went over the officers head.

Yes I am glad he pointed that out. I was unaware that there is a "I missed defense" when discharging a weapon (whether lethal or not) at someone.

Seriously?

"Well, he shot at him but he missed. So see... he's not a threat."

There isnt really anything that officer can say, so i dont think it means much

I mean, the entire thing is on very clear video from three different angles

"Unless you agree to testify against Officer Rolfe, we'll charge you with the exact same charges."

So can this cop waive a jury and just have a judge give a verdict?

OT lawyers....

What are the odds of the trial being moved due to the Mayor and what she has said about this case to prospective jurors?

Mind you the use of a taser was labeled as "deadly force" when charging other Atlanta officers with aggravated assault a few weeks ago. It's completely ridiculous.

shite like this does significant harm to legitimate police brutality claims.

Honestly did not even know that.

Is this actually true though? I haven't even heard Fox News mention this and it seems odd that this would not have one mention on a TV station by now.

I've had a bad feeling for months now that we are watching the realtime rapid decline of our nation.

It sounds alarmist, but I can't shake the idea that it's true. Our government has seemed incompetent during COVID, and now is beholden to a mob.

He was probably referencing the No Harm, No Foul Ruling of 1981
