But since he was actively running away, and still running while he fired taser, I guess that is the angle that the prosecution is going for.
That's a retarded angle. I know it's not yours, just saying

I cannot believe that jackass DA glossed over the whole fight and didn't even mention it suggesting 41 minutes of cooperation and somehow Brooks teleported over to the car and was shot. Also, an excited utterance is not given additional credibility as he said - its an exception to hearsay. They will get destroyed at trial.

After watching the video though, I don't see any way he's convicted.
He shouldn't have to even have to defend himself.
He should not have the "stain" of the charges against him.
He and his union (or some wealthy benefactor) needs to get him the best fricking criminal lawyer on the planet and just start dropping malicious prosecution bombs from the start

Wow. I’m very critical of police shootings but in no way is this in the realm of felony murder

charges in case against Garrett Rolfe in Rayshard Brooks’s death including felony murder
At least the officer knows that he won't be facing any real prison time now.

Is a taser considered a deadly weapon when used on police? Could be a deciding factor. I agree this seemed like a legal shoot by the police, but let's say Brooks grabbed a baton and threw it at the police. That's not grounds for a legal shooting right? Certain a gun would be. So my question is where is the line drawn currently?

It is completely biased if he is convicted of any charge. They will try to make an example out of him.

and the coroner ruled it a homicide?
It's almost as if you didn't know that all deaths that are not natural deaths are called "homicides"

At least the Democrats have abandoned any pretense of justice or fairness. If there is any “moderate” on here that try to say both sides are the same, they can go frick themselves.
I’m very moderate and Ive never seen anything like this in my life.... only in history books and documentaries.
People see what they want to see, but there’s no excuse for this level of willful ignorance that our society has been experiencing lately. I’m flabbergasted.

I think if Brooks fired the taser while still in direct combat with the officers, and was shot, that would be a 100% clear case of self-defense. But since he was actively running away, and still running while he fired taser, I guess that is the angle that the prosecution is going for.
The same DA charged son APD cops with assault with a deadly weapon when they used them on rioters. He wants to have it both ways now by saying a taser isn't a deadly weapon.

This is turning into a kangaroo court.

my hope is that the city is saying it is cheaper to pay this guy than all the damage and destruction for the looting

You can’t have a proper Revolution without a Show Trial.

WTF? This is the first I'm hearing of it and I'm having a hard time believing it.

This is just another example of a stupid DA thinking that charges = convictions. Like that idiot in Baltimore who charged those cops with all the trumped up murder charges.
Then at trial, they all walk. Big shocker.
Atlanta will burn again after this cop's trial, and the DA should get the blame they deserve.

Riots and looting are going to happen no matter what. The only thing that's going to happen here is an even bigger damage bill when they walk.

If I was an officer in Atlanta I would be looking hard to find a new occupation. Anything they do will be used against them.
