CTL has bigger problems than where the next CEO will reside.
I would guess that unless there is significant progress with CTL's financials, he wont be the CEO past 2024.
It is going to be tough following the current CEO....and the financial metrics of the company will not do him any favors.

I hear that it's already in the 5 year plan to move the nerve center, but some operations will remain in Louisiana. Denver or Utah are places that are being floated around.

Jeff Storey, president and chief executive of Level 3, will take over as top executive of the largest public company headquartered in Louisiana Jan. 1, 2019.
The board is still made up of mainly old time Monroe people so it should be safe for at least a while. After this crop is forced out, though, I wouldn't be surprised to see them move most operations

CenturyLink should be happy they have a CEO with basic common sense.

Centurylink bought Level 3, but it seems like Level 3 is calling the shots.

Monroe is in a weird place. For a while it looked like they were going the way of so many lousiana and miss towns. But then they kept hanging in there and now have some decent growth. However their evening news still almost every night has some sort of ghetto crime report. Its like they are trying so hard to become Jackson but some sort of white force is keeping from getting there.

Jamie Mayo is not a terrible mayor.

Katrina brought a lot of that to be honest.

They still won't demolish the old Sonic building on Hwy 80 by the airport. CTL employees have to pass that on their way to the headquarters on 165.
The Hwy 80 corridor alone should make them want to relocate. That is all on Mayo, IMO.

Wasn't that palace they built on D'Arbonne supposed to be the CEO's residence? I remember passing there while it was under construction and wondering why they were building such a big hospital in Farmerville. But they're stuck with it now, not much of a market for $10,000,000 plus estates in Farmerville.

In fact, the area from CTL HQ to Sterlington is booming. Very impressive growth. Louisiana needs convince them to stay. It would crush that area if they leave the same way Northwest Arkansas would turn to shite if Walmart ever moved their HQ.

Damn, I knew this was coming but if CenturyLink leaves it will be terrible for Monroe. It’s our main economic driver. They have so much invested in the area (and still building) that it would be really expensive and difficult to relocate elsewhere. Plus it’s employees will have to sell their houses which will be depreciating in value due because of it.
Just because a company changes the location of its corporate headquarters doesn't necessarily mean that they'll move all of the employees somewhere else. Most likely, just the c-suite executives and support staff would go somewhere else. Makes it easier to attract quality leaders who otherwise wouldn't consider the company given its shitty location.

Centurylink has been itching to move to Denver for a while now
Posted on 10/11/17 at 6:47 am to DavidTheGnome
I wouldn't either? Have you been to Louisiana?
Posted on 10/11/17 at 6:54 am to AnonymousTiger
Don't kid yourself. When management moves so goes the business with a lot of the local support services and vendors. It's a bigger loss than just the company members.

I love Monroe threads, it helps me weed out the idiots on the OT... Oh wait I've been doing that for about 12yrs on here.

Imagine having more money than you know what to do with and can live in Napa, Aspen, or Monroe?
